Firing of Walt Monegan and investigationAlaska Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan was fired by Palin, allegedly for refusing to fire Palin’s former brother-in-law, state trooper Mike Wooten. Monegan said that no one explicitly said “fire Wooten,” but that Palin, her staff, husband and family repeatedly pressured him via phone, email and in person.
