A Nigerian boy walks through his neighborhood, on his way to school. Nigeria has now shutdown schools in the capital amid security fears. The mass abduction of school children, particularly girls, is posing a serious threat to the future of children and the development of education in Nigeria, UNICEF said. In 2021, there were attacks and mass abductions in at least 10 schools in the Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi and Niger states.
