With 63,880 deaths, Brazil breaks homicide record

Brazil broke its own record for homicides last year. 63,880 people were killed in 2017, a 3 percent increase from 2016. Rapes also rose 8 percent to 60,018. An average of 14 people died at the hands of police officers every day, an increase of 20 percent from 2016.
