A U.S. Army medical researcher educates children on malaria at a school in Kenya. Malaria is an urgent public health priority. Today, nearly half of the world’s population, most of whom live in sub-Saharan Africa, are at risk for developing malaria and facing its economic challenges, according to UNICEF.
