Protest in Myanmar immediately following the military-lead coup that deposed the democratically elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi in February 2021. Aung San Suu Kyi was sentenced on December 6 to four years in jail for incitement and breaching COVID rules by the court, but later her sentence was reduced to a two-year term of detention in an undisclosed location.
