Activist protests the killing of Lumads, an indigenous community in the southern Philippines that has lost ancestral land to encroachment by mining, logging, and energy companies. While South and Central America have historically been the deadliest region for defending land rights, the Philippines suffered the third largest number of deaths over the issue in 2020.
