More than 1,000 people took part in a May Day rally in Oakland, California, on May 1. Speakers on the back of a truck led the peaceful march along International Boulevard, punctuated by drum beats from protesters in indigenous costumes, according to the Associated Press. The rally headed to San Antonio Park, about a mile away.
