At the beginning of the Republican debate, Newt Gingrich blasted what he called the “destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media.” He was responding to a question from the moderator John King of CNN about one of Gingrich’s ex-wives saying in an interview that he had asked for an “open marriage.”
