On board the NOAA Ship Pisces, hydrographer Rachel Medley observes a water sample collected from the Gulf of Mexico about 9 miles south of the Deepwater Horizon oil wellhead near the Louisiana coast. The ship's mission is to test for signs of hydrocarbons.
