Colombians play music during a protest march in Medellin, Colombia, in May 2021. Since April 28, Colombians have risen up in massive protests throughout the country, initially against the tax reform that the government intended to implement by increasing taxes for the working population. After overthrowing the reform, the people continue protesting for other reasons. The government has unleashed a wave of repression that has left dozens dead and hundreds injured.
