Children in Akha Pala, Lao People‘s Democratic Republic. The World Bank’s Poverty Reduction Fund, established in 2002, is the largest multi-sector community-driven development project in Lao PDR. PRF initially focused on small-scale community infrastructure and capacity building for project planning and implementation. In 2012, PRF also initiated community-driven livelihood and nutrition activities. Thus far, 1.2 million people have directly benefited from PRF activities over the past 15 years.
