The world‘s oceans soak up about a quarter of the CO2 that humans pump into the air each year — a powerful brake on the greenhouse effect. In this photograph from July 2006, this brother and sister duo had walked for four hours
to reach a one room, sparsely stocked clinic in rural Mexico that is only open sporadically. The nearest hospital is a day or two walk from where they live and no one owns a vehicle. Once a patient arrives, they will wait for several hours to be seen by the First Aid Worker.
