A worker from the Cambodian Mine Action Center follows correct procedures before detonating a landmine with C4 explosive. Between 1979 and 2021, landmines and other explosive remnants of war claimed 19,805 lives in Cambodia, the world’s largest amputee population, according to the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority.
