A man totes refuse through a waste dump in the Maldives. The world’s biggest manufacturers of single-use plastic are set to increase their production capacity by 30 per cent by 2025, meaning a further 1 trillion one-liter plastic bottles and caps, 1 trillion plastic bags and 1 trillion meters of kitchen film will be produced, consumed and discarded as waste.
