Children in the Siem Reap Province of northwestern Cambodia. Although Siem Reap has been cleared of more than 1,400 square kilometers of landmines, with nearly 4 million pieces of unexploded ordnance destroyed over the past 25 years, it remains a landmine threat; additional areas must be cleared. Thanks in large part to public awareness and alertness, land mine explosions have not killed any Cambodians so far this year.
