Every day, when the tide is low, Tanzanian women head to the dry lagoon at Jambiani to take care of the seaweed farm. Once they harvest the seaweed, it is used for many purposes: food, cosmetics, fabric, etc. The money earned from the seaweed, allows those women to emancipate themselves from their husbands and support their families on their own.
