A farmer from the Tigray region, Ethiopia in April 2018. Due to scarcity of land, the majority of the population in Tigray produce less than half their annual minimal food requirements and 89 percent of the population earn less than $2.54 per day, plunging them into poverty and malnutrition, according to Farm Africa.
