The Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima, Japan, serves as a memorial to the people who were killed when Allied forces dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on Aug. 6 1945. Over 70,000 people were killed instantly, and another 70,000 suffered fatal injuries from the radiation. US President-elect Donald Trump said he plans to increase his country’s stockpile of nuclear arms because the world is so dangerous today.
