The space shuttle Atlantis is towed toward the orbiter processing facility at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla. NASA plans to announce retirement homes for its three orbiters — Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour — on the 30th anniversary of the shuttle program’s first launch.
